Hey guys I'm new to this website. I've done my transition from the VW world. I just sold my 1961 double cab and now looking to buy a 4x4 tacoma. So I came across a deal. It's an 08 tacoma Trd sport 4x4. Price is at 13k but it has 150k miles. I'm wondering if that's a good deal. How long do these trucks go without swapping out the trans and or rebuilding the engine. I know it all varies on the way the owner treated it. And the maintenance. I just never purchased a high mileage vehicle. I also found a 03 Tacoma Trd off-road with 90k miles. Automatic for 13.9. I like the newer body style but I don't think first gen are ugly either. Any info would be great guys. I just don't know a lot about these vehicles. All I know they are super dependable.

They can go well into the 200k+ mile range.
I believe there are a few around with 300k on them.

I see a lot of them in the mid to upper 100k+ now.
And $13k is about right on the asking price if it is in good condition.

My 04 TRD OR DC was super reliable. I had it for 10.5yrs and made it to 187k miles before getting totaled. No issues other than maintenance. Both body styles are nice although I decided to get a new one to replace the old (gone but not forgotten). Almost forgot to mention insurance paid $14.2k for my 04 with 187k miles so the 03 you found for $13.9k sounds like a fair price (depending on condition).

    Clazzio seat covers,
You will notice many folks will read a post and not reply because they have nothing to offer on the subject... perhaps the title is a little misleading or vague.

Some will reply even though they have nothing good to offer ...

And ... your thread will get jacked and posts will not have anything to do with your original comment.

    Enjoy your ride ...
