Hey, just got through installing icon stage 2 kit with upper control arms.
Running toyo at2 285 70 R17 on method mesh wheels with 4.75" backspace.
I now have some wheel rub issue even with the coil overs at a fairly generous lift height.
It's on the front mud flaps to the side where the wheels are being steered. There is a section of the flaps which stick out proud and flange up to the fender and wheel well. This is where the rub is. I have looked a bit for discussions on the best way to eliminate or if I can make lift adjustments this is preferred method.
I am still new to TW so give me some advice on where to get some direction on this.
    Thanks!!!

If it were me, I would just take the flaps off. Some people might not like that though :p

X2 take em off. No trouble after that. If you wheel at a decent difficulty you might wanna think about a cab mount chop if you haven't already done that.

Thought of that also and removed flaps to check. Clearance improved slightly but still slightly catching inside corner of fender flare.
It's a brand new 2014 so trying to keep it tidy and the word chop scares me at the moment. At the se time the slight rub is also irritating the piss out of me although very slight.
Thanks for the quick responses guys. That was my first post and got some good support. Glad to see folks are so helpful around here.

When I had 285's, I removed the flaps and trimmed the fenders...there's a post around here somewhere I'll find it.

Completely understand! When I was rubbing I didn't quit until I found a solution cuz it was so irritating. I cut my fenders by 2.5" and was really nervous making the first cut and was nervous to do cab mount chop too. When I did both of those things though, I can't tell you what a difference it made. I don't rub on anything now. And have tons of clearance! The only other thing that I can suggest is maybe trimming tires a little bit.
And yeah man TW is great. People are very helpful. Lots of knowledge from lots of people here.

Did some poking around and figured out how to add profile pic.
Still rubbing the 285s though. Jacked the ride height as best I could and had alignment done to give max clearance but still a bit of rub. Will likely chop the cab mounts and get this dealt with after I have a few thousand miles on her.
She's still too new to bring a torch to.
For now, the newer tacomas don't have air temp gauge, so that's my next project.
    Thanks guys.

Welcome to TW. I don't have any lift or as big of wheels as you but I took my flaps off and used a kitchen knife to trim some plastic in the wheel well where there was some minor rubbing, but for you that might not be enough to fix the problem

    enough to go over stuff
Mine is a 2014. I removed the fender, had the cab mount cut and re welded, removed some of the wheel liner, folded the pinch weld, and trimmed a small corner of the fender.
