    Hello

I have a 2014 Tacoma with ETune basic. I connect my iPhone via USB. It worked great at first and now looses or never gets fully connected. Bluetooth audio and phone work fine but USB connection is funky. I've replaced cable so that's not it. It works fine via USB in my Caprice.

    Ideas??

    Thanks

    Dave

I'm upgrading iOS again. Could be issue as when I reboot phone it does seem to fix issue briefly at times.

May just switch to new samsung phone. Tired of Apple BS

Samsung devices won't work via the usb. It will only charge the device (very slowly however). They're not supported by the tacoma system. Only apple is supported.

Yes, the blutooth will work. To be honest, apple devices just work the best with these systems. I've always had apple products and they've always worked great with the stereo. I recently bought a galaxy S5, and its a pain in the ass using with the truck stereo. It has a lot of hiccups.

Granted your having some issues, its not a common occurence. I think once your problem is solved, you'll be good to go.

I've gone back to using my old iPhone as an ipod over using my galaxy because it works so much better with the truck stereo.

My Ipod will sometimes just plain loose it's connection via USB. It's the classic so no BT. I end up having to either reset the Ipod or turn off/on power to the HU. At my 10k service I'll have them check it out. Although the answer is "we couldn't duplicated the problem". On my '09 PreRunner the radio would just go out..took it in and they had to replace the entire unit. Seems there was a mass defect but no "official" notice.
