    Quick necro: '99 2.7 here, dipstick says Dex II as well. However, I get a reading on one side of the stick, but not much on the other side. Is that okay ? I would assume both sides should be close, even at the angle it goes into the pan.

    used to have - 99 2.4L I4 5 lug & 04 prerunner v6
    yes, this is correct, they are getting hung up on it running and don't see that you are asking how overfull it should read when it has the correct fluid level but the engine is NOT running. in this case the fluid will be well over the full mark, maybe by an inch or so.

    My 01 says "dex II". Carfax shows all owners in Florida.
