A couple months ago I installed a 3" OME lift on my 2nd gen with Icon UCA's. Since the install, there has been an audible clunk sound when the front suspension tops out (droops into big pothole, etc). There's no wear marks on springs, UCA's, etc, so I am thinking the noise is the shock topping out harshly. Has anyone else experienced this with the OME kit?

I'm thinking limit straps are the solution but I don't know much about 'em. I have stock LCA's so no good mounting point. Is there any reason not to weld a mounting tab on the LCA skids (BAMF)? I was thinking that would be easier than going directly off of the stock LCA. Also thinking top mounting point will be a new tab welded to the frame. Is that a good idea?

The noise doesn't bother me so much as the harm I imagine it's causing to the shock. A longer travel coil over would solve the issue (I think), but I don't really have new coilovers in the budget again just yet

There was a thread about this recently, the consensus was that its just a sound and isnt causing damage.
