I'm running Morimoto 55W ballast with 55watt 6000k morimoto bulb purchased at TRS.

Bulbs are not turning on occasionally during start-up and I'm going to replace them. All connections are grounded and I have been using the system for 2 years.

I checked TRS website and cannot find specific 55W replacement bulbs, everything is 35W. Did something change in the last year? Or are these 35W bulbs beefed up to handle 55W ballasts.

I emailed TRS but they haven't replied yet, understandable during black friday/thanksgiving weekend. I am trying to take advantage of the black friday/cyber monday deal but I do not want to purchase without knowing!

    Thanks

There is no such thing as 55w HID bulbs. All 55w ballasts/kits are overdriving 35w bulbs at the expense of longevity. You can buy the 35w and they will last probably about the same amount of time as your last set.

Cool, that may be right but I remember my bulbs saying something to the effect of "55W bulb." From what I heard, the filament and glass is beefed up to handle the extra heat. Albeit they still do not last as long as 35W, but 55W makes sense w/ the FX-R projector capability.
Exactly what I remember, there was a box to choose 55W vs 35W
