I have a G31C gen 3. I really want to get a sub-compact but can't justify spending the dough on another gun, right now.

I have a sale lined up for my 31c but I'm rethinking it. Glock has discontinued the C models. Should I hold onto this? Do you think it will be worth more down the road?

Not to mention, it'll be off roster in April. That might make it even more desirable (at least in CA) wouldn't it?

    added poll. cuz, you know.

Sell it and buy the sub. The price of the gun will only go down since new generation glocks are always coming out.

But Gen 4 glocks are not on our roster and SSE is ending. This severely limits Glock purchases within CA

I've never had a problem getting value out of previous generation Glocks.

That's my point. Never understood why anyone would take (much of) a hit on selling firearms as they hold their value better than most everything else you will own. I cringe when I see people who don't know any better selling used firearms at substantially less than they paid new because they're just used to used items going for much less than new. Walk into ANY pawn shop and look at their used gun prices. I promise you I can find new prices for less yet those guns will likely sell this week. The only place that tends to sell used guns for less than new is usually gun shops because they have a brand new version of it right next to it and if they don't they won't sell. Even then I see discounts of $10-$15 over new and people still buy them. It amazes me.

In closing, do what you want. If there's no sentimental value and you can get good monetary value for it towards something you will personally value more... why would you not?

Hell, I sold my Gen4 G17 for $680 or so this summer. We have similar retarded gun laws and dealers aren't supposed to sell or transfer post-98 Glocks in MA. Even Gen 2's (all are pre98) go for a good amount here.

TL;DR, if you have a Gen 2 Glock and want to sell it, list it for MA residents to see lol

Are there any other discontinued glock models that have shot up in value?

Think I'll go ahead and sell it to get the sub. The only reason I would keep it is to make more money off it later, I've made the decision to not be greedy.

I could use some good karma.

...is this glock your only handgun?...

..if so, i'd recommend keeping it, AND getting another (whatever you're looking for)...

...it's always a good idea to have multiple, ...in the unfortunate event you use it to defend yourself, ...you can bet LE will take it from you for evidence/analysis/etc, ...so, having multiple, means you won't go unprotected...
