Tailgate Handle Backup Camera Install -- 2009 Tacoma

Thanks for this pic. I'm doing this mod soon to my 08 and this was what I was worried about.

 

Here's the information on the 2009-2013 camera. 86790-04010

 

I have a 2012 Tacoma that looks to be prewired. I can not find the plug for the mirror. I do not have a touch screen, its a base unit. Does anyone have a link to a video?

 

edteach - some trucks don't have the internal wiring for video. If you check the harness at the tailgate that drops down to the framerail, open up that wiring loom and see if you have just one wire there. If so - you don't have the factory pre-wiring in the truck.

Still looking for a direct fit aftermarket camera to fit in there that wont leave any gap for my 2008 Doublecab. Can't afford the expensive camera from the dealer.
Has anyone had any luck with any of the ones from China off ebay? looks like the OEM style is the "square" type...

 

If that handle doesn't fit Pop and Lock makes a lockable handle that you can use with or without the camera.

 

Does anyone know where I can get the factory wiring harness? I have the camera, and a 2018/2019 etune but I know my 05 doesn't have the harness
