Factory still comes with rugged trails. Rugged terrains have never been offered, they are a very good tire compared to the trails but 80% on here do not realize the difference.

BFG's fault for not making the tire a complete different name.

Just slapped some snow tires on my daily driver car. Tacoma had 4wd so snows are not worth it in my eyes for my area. If I was more rural or had wads of cash to toss it is always nice to have a dedicated winter set.

I had Rugged TERRAINS on my '04 4Runner and ran them for 2 years; after 30k there was still plenty of tread left. They did well in the Maryland winters and performance much better than the stock Dunlop AT20's.

4Runner's has a very sensitive traction control and when you slip, it kills the throttle. The AT20's always slipped and you couldn't go any faster than 45mph in slush/snow. The Rugged Terrains didn't slip and I could cruise in the snow with out worries.
