I try to keep my truck as nice as possible, meaning I park far away from people when I go out etc. Last night when I had pool league, I thought oh heck ill park closer tonight. There was one truck there already, so I parked near it but far enough that theres plenty of room for swinging doors. Well, when I left to go back home, a fellow pool player (whos extremely fat) had parked his chevy about 3 feet from my truck. I knew there was absolutely no way he could have gotten out of his truck without bashing mine. Sure enough, in the daylight today, I looked at the side of my truck and theres a brand new mark right where the door would have hit. Its not a dent, its more like a crack in the clearcoat. The ONE time I take a chance to simply park closer. Lesson learned, I will never do this again. Its just so upsetting because I still owe a lot on the truck. I know a guy who does great body work out of his house. I guess ill just have to see him in the spring.

Thank you unchained. I may get those. Thats exactly where the mark is. Plus these will just cover over the mark anyway. Are they effective at protecting? I assume I can get it in black (my trucks bsp).

Very effective I tested other vehicles and even a lifted Tacoma. Comes out to that spot precisely.

looks like someone needs to get some sliders. say bye bye to door dings with them. you'll just end up pissing off the people that decided to swing their door open by their door getting damage from the slider. haha. lesson learned haha

Should I get sliders or the mouldings? I dont want to worry about door dings anymore.

Moldings if you want them to damage something else on your truck with their door. Sliders if you want them to damage their own vehicle with their door.

slammed hard enough, the moldings will bend and potentially rub into the paint over time and vibration. sliders have multiple functions like door ding protection as well as trail protection from trees and rocks.

Can someone post a Tacoma with sliders on them? Sliders can't go above the rocker panel at the bottom of the door. Or your door wouldn't open, so if you put 2 Tacoma's side by side the door is above the sliders and will still hit the door.

They don't go above, but they do stick out further. It will always vary with what vehicle door vs. ride height if you will be dinged or not. Heck, just get both products!

There's always a door higher than your own vehicles door, but sliders extend out far enough that they're better protection against the 95% of cars on the road that will bang into the slider before they hit sheet metal.

Moldings are great, but they still allow 100% of doors to hit your door, they just hit something besides your metal bits. Sliders knock that down significantly further, and the offenders door takes the damage.

    Truth

Sliders won't help in all situations just all cars and some trucks
