Hey TW. First time posting, but I've been lurking for a while..

I somehow managed to shear off the bolts holding my sway bar bushing mount on the passenger side of my '97 4 banger. I was able to remove the top bolt, but the bottom bolt (which at the moment is holding the bushing in place) won't budge. Is it welded to the frame? I tried to use an Irwin bolt extractor to no avail.

I ordered a new OEM mount online (Part # 48823-35050), or so I thought. The part I received won't fit over the bushing I have. Do I have the right bracket?

I don't want to get rid of the sway bar as this is my daily commuter on the freeway. Thanks for all the help.

I doubt it's welded to the frame, probably just stripped or rusted to the point where you can't budge it. I can't remember the name of it but there is some kind of spray you can use to loosen it up for you.

Thanks for the tip boogie3478. I'm hesitant about removing the bolt completely and not being able to get my new bracket on. I tried taking a sliver out of the bushing with a hacksaw in case it got warped, but the bracket still won't fit nicely over the bushing. Besides hunting down a 1st gen being parted out, does anyone have any recommendations for a new bushing mount in case I ordered the wrong part?

It looks like it would as long as the hole in the middle will fit the thickness of the sway bar and the slots for the bolts line up. Have you asked about a replacement part at Autozone or some place similar?

Thanks for your help boogie3478. I ended up using the part from Amazon above and drilling out the sheared off bolts to make it work.
