I was on last night. Saw Jamie in the Cosmodrome but got booted. Went back and got booted again. The he was gone. I've still yet to see a legendary drop. All I get are uncommon and the occasional rare. Only legendary gear I have is a cloak that I bought from FWC and another cloak I bought from New Monarchy. I take that back, I have received one drop but that was for a helmet I couldn't even use. "First world problems"

 

That's cool. I'm beginning to think the problem lies with the game itself. I don't have issues when playing other games. I wish you could trade armor with other users. This lack of legendary drops is starting to get aggravating.

 

Give it time. You can buy the exotics from Xur on Fri though what he sells will be obsolete this week so there is no use due to the expansion and level cap raise next week. I've gotten so many legendary drops it's ridiculous. Day before yesterday I had a legendary gauntlet drop turn into Sunbreakers for the warlock. Don't need them so I'll just dismantle them and get the shard. Give it time and the RNG will eventually turn in your favor. If nothing else just buy your legendary armor / weapons with Vanguard marks. I've got 3 characters and transfer items between them all the time.

I doubt they will ever implement trading armor between other people as someone could do a raid and then just give you the raid armor etc... Trading materials I could understand but armor / weapons? No.

 

I ended up with the raid scout rifle and it is one of the best rifles in the game behind the mythoclast IMO. I love it and it is a headshot machine. Got the Mida Multi Tool from the raid also and put it on the Titian and the knock back on it is pretty impressive also.

I figure next week there will be new sets of armor / weapons since the level cap will be raised to 32. That pretty much means you will be able to level to 31 without doing the new raid and make the VOG obsolete. No use in even doing the raid this week. I'm just saving up all my marks so I can buy the new shit when the expansion comes out.

 

You'll be wasting your time now unless you just want to do it for the experience. Any drop you get will be out leveled next week. The raid is pretty fun but there are still some glitches that make it iffy at best. Thing is... there is no guarantee that you will get anything. I've been lucky and got the gauntlets and plenty of weapons but that is all. Done it numerous times with no armor dropped at all for anyone. But... I did get Chatterwhite for the 10th time now and the arm band

 

The quartermaster has yet to have a legendary for me. I don't have the marks to buy one anyway. I need to do more raids, daily/weekly heroics and nightfall strikes. This wandering around participating in public events doesn't get me anywhere. Fun, but useless.

So don't waste anything on Xur this week correct? By obsolete do you mean the weapons after the patch will be more powerful?

 

they havent said there will be sets to get higher than 30 yet other than from the raid. So i wouldnt guarantee on that. If thats the case then vog would be useless for the rest of the game.

I still want that scout rifle and the epilogue ( be useful for void, ill need to upgrade my mythoclast again now too)

Im figuring you need first raid gear in order to get higher raid gear from the new one. But if they dont do that then itll be nice cause screw not getting armor for the millionth time

 

If I'm understanding what I've found online, buying emblems does nothing more than look cool....correct? It's basically wasting currency or motes of light. I can't find anything that says it benefits a player for having this or that equipped. Basically, don't waste anything on the emblems cause they are worthless. Is this correct?

They haven't come out and said it but if it's like every other MMO expansion they will not "raid lock" you to level 29. I would be willing to bet that the vanguards, crucible, and whatever faction you join will be selling +30 armor. If they didn't it would lock 90% of the people that have never even tried or completed VOG or have had no luck getting the raid armor to drop.

Every MMO I've ever played when the level cap is raised the armor is raised also to allow for the new raid. I have yet to play a MMO where you HAVE to complete a lower raid to enter a higher raid. That would mean in WOW (or insert whatever MMO here) you would be locked until you complete a lower raid that no one is even running anymore because everyone is past it. That would leave lower characters languishing at 29 forever and I seriously doubt Bungie would want that.

If you pay for the new content you are going to want to play the new content. Therefore it would only make sense that the Vanguards will sell level 30 + armor to level to 31 light to allow you to enter "The Dark Below". Then you will find your level 32 armor.

I could be wrong and if I am I'll be done with Destiny. I'm not taking all three of my characters through the VOG multiple times with the hope of getting the armor to only then be able to start on the new content and raid.

 

I hope they do that then. Cause if youre wrong im done with the game as well. And they can go screw themselves cause im not running vog 100s of time to get to 30 like we have already been trying.

 

You are correct as of now.

What I'm getting at is when the expansion comes out the vanguards, crucible masters, etc.... "should" be selling new upgraded gear to allow you to level to 31 without doing VOG. Otherwise you are "raid locked" until you are lucky enough to get all your gear through VOG and I seriously doubt that will happen. I've run it multiple times on all my characters and have only received the gauntlets for my warlock and multiple weapon drops which do nothing for light level.

If they require you to still run VOG to even be able to level to 31 to do the new raid I'm done. You are raid locked to one time per week on each character with no guarantee of getting raid armor. That would cut out the vast majority of people playing the game that have run VOG and been unlucky with armor drops (myself included).

As I said before, I've never seen another MMO do that when the level cap is raised. You can always craft (in other MMO's) or receive higher lever armor to help you attain level cap (or at least a level to allow you into the new raid).
