Bought my first Tacoma manual 5 speed in 1997 and it was a 1996 year model 4X2 with 10,000 miles on her. She now has 260,820 and counting.
With no leaking of oil no smoking and no issues other than a hesitation upon initial acceleration. (Working on that)
One starter at 250,000 or thereabouts put a clutch in around that same time but only because clutch slave cylinder was out and I thought maybe its also about time to replace the clutch. But to my surprise the clutch was fine, gave the old one to a friend for his truck and I think he still has it in his garage. Tires lights and tags that's it.
Bought my second Tacoma this month it's a 2002 TRD Tacoma 4X4 SR5 automatic all stock except for a camper top.
So far Toyota has been the most dependable and most reliable vehicles I have ever owned.
I'm sure I have questions and maybe even some answers to questions, so I'll be seeing you all here soon. Going to bed now work in the am.

I had it for 6 days when these were taken.
I have got front and rear chrome bumpers for it now thanks to ebay. Not put on yet though too cold for me and the bikes in the garage in the way, for now.
