Anyone tried running a more aggressive alignment?

    I'd like to try adding more caster to my front end. I know that too little caster causes steering instability, and too much caster makes the steering too heavy, but the steering in the Tacoma is already a little too light in my opinion. Has anyone tried running 6-7* caster on a regular Tacoma? I'm thinking that I could probably achieve that with light racing upper control arms.

    I'm at 5* caster with All-Pro upper control arms, but the 1.25" uniball adds a lot of friction. So steering feel is not comparable to what you'd get from your setup.

    Note:
    • Caster gained by stock adjustment method (i.e. moving lower ball joint forward) increases tire clearance.
    • Caster gained by LR upper control arms (i.e. moving upper ball joint aft) reduces tire clearance.

    If you are running a 32" or larger tire (stock is 31"), adding caster will cause more rubbing.

    Friction from the uni-balls? At the risk of derailing my own thread, I've got to ask...I thought the idea of uni-balls was to get LESS friction. Why bother if they just make more? If that's not the point, what IS the point?

    As for my tires, I'm running 265/70R17's, there's tons of room. I'm thinking that maybe I'll try to have them do both...move the wheel forward from the bottom, and back at the top with the upper control arms. Maybe it'll even things out?
