My '13 has snaps on the riser near the seat bottom that the mats snap to.

I don't see anything in my truck, maybe a pic? The snaps are on the mat so I'm thinking they have to serve a purpose of some sort but don't know what.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
There should be a small plastic finger that is connected to the floor with the other end of the snap on it. This cannot be removed, only cut off. You're not normal, did you buy it new?

I had a 2014 DCSB that just got totaled... Replaced it with a 2015. The 2014 rear mats were secured by a snap on a strap attached at the base of the seat. The 2015 has no strap, I'm happy they're gone.
