Hi, I'm John, but my long-time internet name is Fritz. I'm indentured to uncle sam for a few more years. I have a strong mechanic/carpenter background, welder by trade, vehicle fixer by necessity. So there's not much I can't fix or build with the right tools. I'm from the Philadelphia area originally. Definitely an off road guy, no disrespect to street trucks, but I can't stand them, to each his own I guess.

Very new to toyotas at all. I'm originally a ford guy, having had two rangers. Long time member over at TheRangerStation (good group of guys if you need to talk about rangers). My last ranger was a 94, 4.0l, 5sp, 4x, 6"... great truck until it just died out... it hit the end of it's service life.

Being here in socal, and I'm sure the other members here can attest, trying to find a ranger is like finding in IQ over room temperature in congress. Yotas are a dime a dozen though. Found one that fit me, and I've been driving it for a day now. Love it.

05, 4.0l, auto, 4x4, TRD-SR5, AC, white/grey, 6" fabtech, 33" mickeys, 136k miles. Can't find a single leak, runs strong, shifts smooth, rides nice for a 6" lift (reminds me that it's a truck, I like it). Almost rust free, immaculate interior, 1 owner, all service logged at Yota dealers. I couldn't pass it up. If the reputation that these trucks carry is true, and with a little help from the good ole internet, it should last me many years. I'm looking forward to putting some armor on it, getting my warn m8000 hooked up, and seeing you guys in person out in the desert.

First order of business is doing a rear-shock job. I'm guessing the PO opted for the cheap rear shocks when he lifted it. The main rod's chrome plating is wearing off near the top and rusting. Can't run with that for too long, and won't try to flex it and risk popping the seal.
