    First post, be gentle...

I couldn't find anything when searching. I just bought a used 2012 Tacoma - Double Cab. I previously had a 2002 Highlander. The driver window on the Highlander had automatic up and down. On my Tacoma, it only has automatic down. Is this the way it is supposed to work or is something wrong? Thanks in advance for any input!

    That's how it works.

Pretty much sucks! I have a 2015 same way... I am working on a mod that will fix this... Still in the research phase...

I get that it's not a big issue... If it was I wouldn't have bought the truck. I do cart my grand kids around a lot and would prefer not to have to hold several buttons up at the same time before I press the lock button... Maybe I'll just learn to lock them before the kids get in...

Auto-up is nice, but on my Rav4 the in-channel deflectors cause it to reverse.
I don't absolutely trust auto-up with kids and use the lock button to keep them from fritzing with it.

This is what you need if you want to add window auto up/down. Be warned, it's temperamental. Even with all the gizmos I have in my truck I decided ultimately that it's just not worth it even though my Optima (car in sig) has it and I've grown use to that feature over the years since most all of our vehicles have had them except for this new Tacoma. They have been REALLY behind the times in little features like this that most manufacturers (even Kia) have just had included with their cars for years now. Here's to hoping the 2016 finally gets with the times.

Every Toyota I have had did not have the auto up maybe I didn't buy one fancy enough. The VW did but it also had pinch sensors that is what I would be afraid of with an aftermarket system. It's not kids I worry about it's the dogs.

Is it possible to add auto down to the passenger window?
