I locked my truck keys in my truck last weekend and had to get my wife to bring my spare key to get in the truck whiich was a real hassle. I was thinking of storing the spare key somewhere on the truck so next time I can use it when I accidentally lock my keys in the truck. Just wondering where other people were keeping their spare key on the truck? I have heard of people actually attaching their spare key to the underside of their truck.
    Thanks

I actually got a spare made at a hardware store and keep it in my wallet. Won't start the truck because there isn't a chip, but it unlocks the door and it is pretty flat.

I keep my spare in a magnetic box tucked up in the rear of the frame.

I keep my plain metal key (to get in the truck) in a magnetic box up under the rear fender in a not so obvious place - you really have to be looking for it to find it.. I keep a chipped spare key (to start the truck) cleverly hidden inside the cab.

    ^^^^^this

Mine is tucked back up under the bumper.

I like that hitch safe though, pretty impressive.

On my 98 Tacoma I put a spare key under the front drivers side wheel between the wheel well material and the truck body, very top of tire. Used a piece of bailing wire and formed a clip to attach like a paper clip. It lasted for 18 yrs until I just sold the truck last week.
Saved me 3 or 4 times.

I did not know this! i might have to get them to cut me one.

    I actually have 2 spares.

    1. a standard key that will unlock the doors but not start the truck, hidden buried under the truck not in an obvious magnetic box that falls of.

    2. a chipped key hidden inside the truck in a location that you have to know its there in order to find it.

The reason for this is. if i loose my keys, the standard spare will not start the truck.... so i can get inside with one, then get the other and start the truck.
