I have a 09 4dr sport 4x4 and was wondering the difference in the 09 compared to the 12,13,14,15 model body styles. Any big changes?, body style looks to be the same. I have noticed a difference in the headlights (I think). What else? Any increase in HP at all?, Pros and Cons.. Throw some info at me please. I just bought my 09 and love it. Just wondering. Thanks for the info.

They changed the front bumper, grille, headlights, hood and I think the fenders for the 2012-2015.

Drivetrain and all that stayed the same

Agreed, I had a '06, '13, and a 14. Add to that list the elimination of the mechanical limited slip differential and replaced with electric LSD, redesigned pistons with shorter skirts starting in 13, added an air pump injector starting in 13, a new radio in 14 (which blows btw), shark fin antenna on all I think starting in 14, cup holders are different and less functional, led tail lights started in 07, TRD bed side decals changed, Sport hood scoop became lower and flatter.

Interesting why you say the '14 radio blows, I've got the JBL version and it is fantastic to my ears, but I'm not an audiophile.

Also unique to 2011, was that it got it's own grill, which had a single black bar through the center and a honeycomb surround.

I also believe the length of the mudguards up front changed to longer, in either '08 or '09??

I have a hard time telling the years also, when did the "Hood Scoop" first appear? or is it an option? I would like to add one to my "09"

Also appears on the X-Runner package. Then expanded to the SR model in 2014. Other than that, it is a TRD Sport feature.

Chuck_wagon, entune issues include XM that drops out continuously, FM reception that also drops far too often, the sound is marginal at best on XM and terrible on FM, weather is based on the HD radio signal which is lousy even in a city like Pittsburgh, traveling typically results in a blank screen for weather, only 1 CD as compared to 6 in the past, and there are many reports of the screens blanking out.

If you're considering newer, I'd say go no newer than a '13. The interior creature comforts have been all down hill since then. (The disappearance of the auto dimming comp/temp/backup camera/homelink mirror, tacky looking radio...) Sure, you can buy an aftermarket one to stick in there, but it isn't nearly as nice as the 13 & older OEM mirror. Mechanically, there's no upgrades on the newer trucks vs the 09.
