Travel Trailer towing

Considering purchase of a travel trailer. My owners guide says I have a max. Towing weight of 6,500 pounds. Is there a tolerance over that weight? Most of the trailers I am looking at are 7000 to 7500. Any advice?

Yea man it's not a good ideal to exceed manufacturers towing limits. Actually it's probably best to stick to about 80% of the max tow limits. Give you a little cushion, remember you have to consider your combined weight also. And if there every was a accident while towing,if your over weight you could be charged in a accident even if it wasn't your fault.

 

I try to cap out at 5000 lbs.
