Received letter Friday, went and had a look and sure enough, my 2011 lights are bubbled. Taco has 35K and extended warranty.

Got them replaced, no problem at the dealership. I just showed the service advisor the post of the recall on page 2 of this thread, he looked at the cracked and burnt lenses, and said yep lets get the replacement parts ordered for you. A few days later he called me to let me know the parts were in and set up an appointment for me to bring the truck in. Was replaced in a couple of hours! Now I have nice new, non scratched up headlights! Thanks to this thread and Tacomaworld!

    Update for Canadian members
I called Toyota Canada and complained about the issue and the fact that the US is covering the issue but canada isn't and they looked into it and there is apparently a comment on the canada service bulletin that states there is a grace period of 1 year no matter how many Km are on the vehicle. They called my local dealer and had them call me to set up a service appointment. The dealer ordered my new lights and scheduled me in. Got them installed earlier this week They look great
So for those Canucks that have an issue with this when going to the dealer i suggest giving toyota Canada a call direct.
My dealer also told me when I was there that they were getting quite a few of these coming in now for this so they are well aware of it
Hope this helps some of you

Just read this thread out of the blue today, and called my dealership up. Sure enough they got me in and I have brand new headlights! Thanks for the heads up Tacoma World! I thought I would have to live with the burned out lights for the rest of my tacos life!

Only about a month left for CDN owners. Unlimited kms. Ask your dealer to lookup WAB2197. I got my new headlights, finally.
Thanks FgReed!!! Without you, I would have had to pay for my new headlights.

I have a 2008 with 92,100 miles (with an Extra Care, 100,000 mile warranty) and they both have melted and cracked. Showed up at dealership at 7AM this morning and he knew why I was there as he saw the damage as I pulled in at Vandergriff Toyota in Arlington Texas. He took my mileage and VIN and said he would go ahead and get the parts ordered but it may be 2 months before the parts showed up. By time I got home at 7:25AM I had a message to call him. I called and he said that it would not be covered under any kind of warranty or good will as it's considered "cosmetic" issue. I posted a very "professional" response with pictures on the Vandergriff Toyota Facebook page and then shared it to the Toyota Tacoma Enthusiast Facebook page. Ten minutes after that Vandergriff Toyota posted to my post saying that they would have a GM call me and then promptly removed my post from their Facebook page. uuummm......being censored. Called Toyota of Rockwall in Rockwall Texas as that is where I purchased it. He recommended I call Toyota Corporate Customer Service. Customer Service said to him it looks like it should be covered but he did say that he has no record that the dealership has called and that they should call to check the warranty. I called and left a message for the Service Adviser that I had spoke with initially. Now I just wait. Way to go for those of you that had it done without issues!

General Manager of Service called and said they will do a "Good Will" deal at 50% of the cost of parts and labor. My portion will be $450.00 he said! Oh well.....I tried. Just very unfortunate that this is not a recall because of poor design of the DTRL lens placement.

It's a warranty extension. They HAVE to do it. Call corporate.

Put up some pictures of your lenses btw.
