Hello everyone. Just joined up and have some questions.

I am on my second Taco, first was a 2006 DC Off Road, current is the same but 2014. I did a 2" top strut spacer and 1" block in the rear of my 2006 and was happy with it. For my new one I would like to get a new coil-over for 2" and lift the rear 1.5"

I have spent many hours searching Google and many sites for options and they all pretty much say the same thing "chose your color and roll with it" After reading all that I really just want to know what to buy for the absolute best ride. To clarify, I don't want to buy an adjustable coil-over and preload it to lift my truck. I really want to get a shock that lifts 2 to 2.5 inches without making the ride rougher.

My friend has the 5100 set to the notch providing the highest lift and compared to my stock truck, you almost lose a kidney when you hit a bump or rut. I am mainly cruising the mountains in North Eastern Nevada on roads with ditches, bumps, ruts etc... and not very fast. I want the suspension to absorb the impact and not try to throw me out the window.

As far as color I like red, that leaves me with Walker Evans, Camburg, and 5100 with red springs from ToyTec. If I get any of these do I have to preload them to get the lift I need or is there another way?

    Thanks for your time

OME is supposed to be great if you are on a budget. If not then look at Icon.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
Don't buy suspension based on color. You can always paint the coils.

As boogie said, look at OME's with nitrocharger shocks, and a wheelers leaf pack for the rear.

When you use the any notch above stock, you are technically preloading.

If you want a soft ride go with Kings or the OME.

If you are all about color, then you are limiting yourself in functionality. When they are dirty/ being used they all look brown anyways.

Thanks guys, color isn't too big a deal, just like red against my grey color.

Will the Eibach springs (or heavier weight springs) on OME or 5100's, instead of preloading, provide a better ride?

Good two choices based on your budget. Like others have said already. As soon as you raise the coil-over, you're preloading them same goes with the bilstein 5100 when you move the clips above the stock height. BTW don't judge suspension based color ;)

I had some confusion on what you all meant but figured it out. Ended up getting the below parts from Toytec. How much lift should I expect? Thanks for your help.

    OME 884 coils
    OME 90021 struts
    Procomp nitrogen rear shocks
1.5" Block for rear with u-bolts
Fully assembled and shipped for $820

    Current height is:
    LF - 34 1/4"
    RF - 34 1/2"
    LR - 36"
    RR - 36 1/8"

Measured on level ground from concrete to lip of fender through center of wheel.

    Will post pics when done

a block in the rear for 820 bucks...... yeah no.

I paid ~ 400-450 for 5100's in the front set at 1.75in (stock trd OR coils), a 2in single AAL and OME N182 rear shocks. Truck rides great and looks great.

The 5100's were out of stock so had to go with the 90021's which alone are $330, the OME coils are $170 that's already more than your whole lift. Next year I will replace the blocks with Dakar rear springs. and match the front shocks with nitro charger shocks, gotta save money for Xmas for now.
