So I was wondering what options you guys have done with your door tweeters?

I've been searching and searching, and after a visit to a Audio Shop I found out most tweeters are only 1" Tweeters, and the ones in the Tacoma doors are 1.5".

Now my question is did most of you guys swap out your OEM paper cone tweeters with new 1" with whatever brand you bought, or kept the 1.5" OEM Tweeter, OR even put a 3-3.5" speaker in instead.

Is that 1" tweeter going to be better than the 1.5? or is the 3.5" going to be better?

I'll be having the shop do the work, but having the knowledge before hand is always better.

    Hey, Fellow Canadian,

The issue doesnt surround what was there stock and this vs that.
The issue encompasses what is your over all goals and setup layout.

There are way to many options out there.

i.e some people like their imaging and staging in such a way that requires their tweeters to be in the a-pillar whist the mid woofer is in the door.

some people run 3 ways and put the 3.5 inch( roughly ) by the stock tweeter location.

If your going Component sets, simply get a good comp set, deadener the doors and mount the tweeter in stock location. Thats the easy and simplest way of going about all of this.

What is the other gear your having them install

The Component set is probably the way I'll be going. I was thinking of grabbing a hidden sub for under my passenger seat since I don't want to compromise the space in my extended cab in case I have passengers or need to throw stuff in the back for camping.

So in the end Component Set, Hidden Sub/ Amp to power everything plus some dynomat for the doors.
