Not sure if it is still going on, but there was a sale on Husky's on Amazon for the X-Contour digital fit mats. Got them for my 2015 and love them. They do have holes for the hooks (actually twist lock type things on my 2015). They fit awesome and I'm happy with them. At least for my truck I could only get them in Black which was ok for me. My neighbor has WeatherTecs in his 14 Baja. Fit is about the same but I didn't care for the Harder type plastic used in the WeatherTecs. The Huskys are made of a more rubber type material very much like the OEM Toyota All Weather mats are made from. Both are good products, mainly a preference thing.

IIRC my weathertechs came with retention hooks. My truck came with the OEM rubber mats but I wore a hole in them under my right heel. Maybe the husky mats are made of a thicker more durable rubber, just something to consider. Another reason I chose WT is the factory store is a short drive so no shipping charge for me and it was a fun experience.

I had hooks on both sides and the liners came with extra hooks in a bag. Not sure what for. The ones already in the truck worked fine...

heated mirrors, lighted cup holders, backup lights, backflip cover, box lights, raised diff breather, solenoid tailgate lock, flashlight holder,
Bought WT with the retaining hooks, remove the hooks whenever I go to a hand carwash so the car jocks don't loose the hooks. I often forget to put them back. The mats do not move. I should have gone without the hooks.

Don't know about the Weather Beater, bought the X-act Contours and they fit / look / and work great.

I have 335,000 miles on a set of Husky mats. Bouught them for my '94 and moved they to my 2002. A little worn but still going strong. I haven't looked at the new ones or the Weathertecs. I'll probably get a new set when I get a new truck.

My 08 Tacoma had factory mat retention hooks on the driver side but not on the passenger side. However, there are the metal rings to attach a retention hook on the passenger side carpet as well as the passenger side factory floor mat (but no hooks).

I went to my dealer and they pass out the retention hooks for free since they are a safety issue and there is a TSB on them from all the random acceleration investigations, so I got some for my passenger side as well.
