Hit this pothole last night. Couldn't see it until I was right on it. I slammed on my brakes and steered to try to put my tires on the other part of it to avoid hitting it as it was all I could have done. This morning, I notice a vibration. Feels more towards the right but after checking the front end out, I can't seem to find anything bent or broken. What could be causing this?

Also, the dumb city I live in put a big orange cone in a dip/pothole in the road about 2 blocks before this one, however they didn't do anything about this one. Its only visible when you're about to hit it.

EDIT: It doesn't look that bad in the picture but it goes about atleast 6 inches.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
It may have knocked your front end out of alignment.

When I bought my tires, I got a 6 month alignment warranty. So sometime next week after work, I'll get that checked out. Also the balancing.

Believe it or not it doesn't take much to bend a wheel. Even with all that rubber surrounding it. Let us know what happened!

I sure hope it isnt that. Can't afford to have to replace a wheel.

Do you think one of my shocks went out? They're the original ones so a blow like that could do some damage to them huh?

Yeah I suppose it's possible the shock is bad, but unlikely. It very well could just be that a wheel weight came off after hitting it. How fast were ya going? I might check the inside sidewall of the tire for bulging. Also examine your tread for any ply separation.

I was doing 35-40 but when I saw it I jammed on the brakes so I was going maybe 20-25 when I hit it.

Would you please describe the vibration: Speed at which vibration is present? What vibrates? Vibration is constant, or just sometimes? If sometimes, when? Vibration loud or soft? etc. Maybe we could then be more helpful...

Well its hard to differentiate from my driveshaft vibration, but it feels like when my tie rods were bad. It hasnt done it today, but the day after I hit the pothole was when I was feeling it. Speeds would really be at any speed. Mostly notice it around 35-40.
