If your on a budget check out the gmb kits from domestic gasket or mizumo auto on ebay. The idler and tensioners have all had premium ntn, koyo, skf bearings.
Ive used them a bunch and havnt had any problems. Most of their kits are usually under $100

This is the one I just installed. Comes with absolutely everything. All genuine parts. Pretty easy to install everything, just time consuming.. if yer wondering.. Was overwhelmed at first as I've never done anything like this before. But if I was to do it again, it'd be cake. Did not use the crank/cam seals though. That was another job in of itself. But at least I have them if/when I need to do it. The oem drive belts are very nice too. One more note, I was running hot after install, like 210. Come to find out, the jiggle valve in the thermostat needed to be facing DOWN! Not up. Runs at a steady 188.6 every day now. Very happy with it. And she purrs like the day she drove off the lot. At least it seems that way:D (I think my timing was off a hair.)

Edit: Was easy EXCEPT for that darned crank bolt! Impact wouldn't even get it. Almost popped a hernia but I popped er loose finally;) And had to use a puller to get the crank pulley off. And of course I took out the radiator too, but that's pretty easy.

None of these kits come with a replacement crank bolt but I'm reading that the FSM says it needs to be replaced.

So what's the truth? Does the crank bolt need to be replaced?

Eh, I bought an Aisin OEM water pump for the 3rz recently & sent it back. Poor casting marks, scabs & rat tails. While the pump likely would've been just fine, I didn't really trust it.

I ended up buying the Toyota branded Aisin water pump. A *much* cleaner piece, no casting imperfections.

I'm actually wondering if the non branded Aisin parts fail the manufacturers visible inspection, yet are still usable pieces. So called "B" stock. Hence the ground off section where the make name (eg Toyota) is.

    YMMV

It probably should be considering you'll probly never have to get back in there to replace it for quite some time. I didn't simply because I completely forgot about it so I just used the old one. I imagine it's not that expensive. Haven't looked. But yeah get it anyways. Might as well.
