Got on a binge this weekend after getting the trailer back from the welders with the fenders and tailgate finished up.

    1. Fully painted the bottom, tailgate, fender, interior, bed rack and linear actuators (used rust encapsulator, primer and flat black rattle can)

    3. Installed the tongue box
    3. Installed jerry can mounts
    4. Installed propane tank mounts
    5. Installed fridge slide and fridge

    6. Hooked up linear actuators and tested with the the tent on the tent rack and raised the tent with no problem (NOTE TO SELF: Do not raise to roof without checking to make sure light fixture is not under tent, it will break it, see pictures 3 and 4).

    Things left to do
    1. Weld on new tongue jack
    2. Put D-rings and wire on tailgate
    3. Get fittings on water tank installed and install water tank
    4. Install battery bank
    5. Install inverter, electrical switches, solar controller and wire everything up
    6. Install water heater and pump
    7. Solar panels???
    8. Put the necessary gear in the truck

Have been taking sporadic pictures but after I finished up last night at 8PM, I straightened up the garage and had a beer.

Well, after quite a wait (14 months) the skids and bumper are here. Bumper is painted and I pick up tomorrow. Meanwhile I installed the skids myself this weekend.

Pic 1 - Pulled the Bushwhacker flare in anticipation of the coming install of the bumper and also took off the dreaded bull bar (no more snickers from those good looking women drooling over my truck until they saw the dreaded bull bar).

    BumperandSkidStart_72ba81e599a8fb8977833e26ab658254ba1cdb26.jpg

Pic 2 - Removed the OEM skid pan and IFS skid going into place. Relentless had a good posting from someone installing them so even I was able to figure it out.

    Skid1_a80ff908475f7c62dc826fd8eb6bfa1bd9ea528c.jpg

Pic 3 - Mid going in. One 1/2 inch nut was missing so off to Lowe's. Also picked up some lock washers as I thought they might be a wise idea.

    Skid2_863070df870b8fa88541250866a3de25af6e7939.jpg

Pic 4 - Transfer case skid going on and that finalizes it up after I drilled the holes. Had to take the grinder to make a bit more room around the exhaust but that was because it was re-routed and a Borla muffler installed. Worked out well as I was able to purchase the skid that is not cut for the stock exhaust and the exhaust pipe had an inch or two clearance above the transfer case skid. Took two days but I started late on Saturday and saved all the real work for that day after installing the first two bolts to hold up the IFS skid.

Pic 5 - And its done and time for the Yellowhammer White Belgian!:D Not the best picture but got the protection in place that I wanted before I get out and put the truck through some tougher challenges. Quality products and bumper going on will finalize up all the major things I need to do to the truck.

Almost got there. Took everything apart and after initial fit we both decided the color was not right. Took it back to the painters and they agreed it was "too transparent." They will reshoot it again and hopefully will get closer to the darker appearance of the truck. Going to take a few shims here and there and have a bunch of pictures already so will post again when its redone and we get some time to put it on.

I can't tell if your painter is trying to color match it by eye, but there's a company that I get my touch up paint from who's colors are perfect.

I used it to purchase spray cans for my satoshi grill. They also sell it by the pint and gallon too.

Glad they are repainting it. Looks like a Christmas tree green.. Are they using paint codes? Glad you finally got the bumper! It will look even better once its painted again! :D

They supposedly did use the paint code that they used on my bushwhackers and rear bumper which came out all right although the plastic bumpers were somewhat dark as well as the bumper (a few pages back). Might be that it is aluminum and that could be making the difference.

Is it just me or does it sit quite low to the ground? Maybe it's the pictures idk, just wondering

If you mean the bumper then no. Got a lift kit on front although will probably adjust the coil overs for a bit more after the install. Picture is somewhat deceiving also. You can see the 3 bolt mounts for what is actually your bumper and the plastic cover that everyone actually calls a bumper goes even below that.

That's probably it, pictures can always be quite deceiving when it comes to trucks and height. Great build by the way though! Love the spruce micas, its a shame they're not making them anymore for 2015.

Actually could be great for someone that owns one. Would think they would be more collectable. I used to have a 2X 2007 Tacoma and it irked me when I couldn't get it in green (bought it new). I have one now and still surprised they discontinued it. It was actually hard to find one when I bought it.

How goes the color matching? Has the painter figured it out?

New paint job came out nice. Brian is back from his trip and probably will install Sunday. More pics to come.

Time to install the Ham radio and Scangauge. Wanted all the installs as much out of the way as possible and with as little drilling as possible. Installed my Ham Radio (Yaesu FT-8900R - went with the Yaesu for the specific reason that it has a detachable faceplate and the rest of it is behind the rear seat) and Scangauge II. I got a Blendmount mount (here) and then drilled the mount and fitted a longer piece of aluminum plate to it so I could fit the radio and the Scangauge. Had to due some drilling trimming on the back of the plate and Blendmount to mount the Ham faceplate but it worked out well as it was for the cabling. Ran the cables for the Scangauge (perfect length) and the Ham radio. Got to get my ham license now. Seems to be really sturdy and don't think I will have any issues with it bouncing around in rough terrain. I finally broke down and drilled two holes in the Sunglasses holder to mount the mike. Got a mount for the Ham radio that installs inside the tailgate (forget who but they are in the vendors) and have a Diamond CR8900A Quad Band FM Mobile antenna.

Well, I should be over Greenland at the moment and I am not. Looks like it will need to be postponed. Ice and snow at JFK yesterday is to be blamed for my plane not getting here in time for my flight today.

Are you going to get different and bigger tires?
