New to TacomaWorld. Introduced myself in new members thread and got a bit ahead of myself asking about a concern......having a no start issue with my Tacoma. Fortunately I have a good friend down the road who has a shop with a lift in hopes of trouble shooting this problem and making the repair as needed. He is a mechanic by trade so that was a plus for me. He jumped right in to trouble shooting pulling a plug, inspecting the wires and asked me how long has it been since the fuel filter was replaced. I was leaning towards a bad fuel pump but he determined it was working. I assumed that was the culprit since I could not hear it cycle as I can in my other vehicles. Turns out it was not the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel filter, wires, and plugs upon his advise and she fired up within a split second upon turning the ignition on. The fuel filter was quite dirty and the plugs were worn out. The wires were at least 3 years old so they got changed out for that reason. How about the location of the fuel filter on this vehicle? Fortunately a relatively easy fix at this time.
