OEM grille changes?

Are there any differences between the 2005-2010 OEM grilles? I realize the 2011 had the egg crate texture on the inside of the grille, and that the 2012+ grille is completely different.

A coworker of mine has a black base RC 2wd just like my silver base RC 2wd. His is a 2011. Mine is a 2009. His has a slightly different grille. His has an egg crate texture on the inside parts of the grille areas. Both are trucks are 100% OEM.

This coworker of mine mentioned that when the Tacoma received OEM LED tail llights (2009) that he thought the grille was changed slightly too. I hadn't heard this, but the Tacoma Wikipedia says the same thing about the 2009 getting a different grille compared to 2005-2008.

 

What are you trying to do with the grille?

 

There are all kinds of differences....05-11 all fit the same but come in many different trims...such as base grey plastic, chrome surround with black center bar, chrome surround with grey painted center bar, color matched with black center bar, color matched with grey painted center bar...
