Has anyone done a mod turning the fog lights into turn assist lights? In other words, when the left turn indicator is on the left fog light would come on and vice versa.

I've yet to have to use my fog lights and would think they would only be moderately helpful in the case of bad fog as you have to have the regular headlights on to use them. I have noticed that they do pretty well at illuminating to the left and right. Useful if you are trying to turn into a drive off of a country road when it's dark.

I've seen the "fog lights on all of the time" mod but (I know I'll hear from those who disagree on this!) I think it's rude to put more light in the eyes of oncoming drivers than necessary. That's from someone who has had cataract surgery on one eye and has one scheduled for the other eye. Just thought I'd put this out there in case anyone has tried it or has a theory on how it could be done.

Actually, fog lights are much more blinding than regular headlights. Fog lights usually do not have as clean of a beam pattern and because they are so low to start with, they aren't really aimed down like normal headlights are. Go stand in front of your truck with the fog lights on and off - you'll be much more blinded with the fog lights on.

I leave my fog lights off unless I'm out on the open road and need the extra light.

the 2012+ fogs have great cutoffs. help light the close area and far sides REALLY good, i dont drive without them on with the headlights on high or low.

just leave em on all the time and you are fine.
