I'm trying to run a compression test because of misfires but I can't get to #2 or #3 spark plugs. I can't seem to get the intake off and I don't want to mess anythibg up. Can you guys give a link or pictures to help ? Thanks

There are two (12mm head?) bolts under the air resonator box that hold its steel mounting bracket to the cylinder head. Remove those and you're golden.

Alternative: you can also remove the two nuts that hold that box onto the steel mounting bracket, they're on the bottom under the bracket. Pain in the butt either way, but this way is easier to reinstall.

You'll also need to unbolt the throttle cable bracket that drops between the duct and the u-shaped duct on top of the cylinder head...don't mix up the bolts, they are different head sizes.

I remove the clamp on the duct between the air filter box and that big resonator box and lay it aside, so as not to futz w/ the MAF wiring harness that's clipped to the duct.

you can also disconnect the plug wires from the coil so they can be removed instead of removing the intake tube to do it, its so much easier to do it that way.

if you do remove the intake box and tube go ahead and pull and clean the throttle body out. to do this you will need a throttle body gasket and two EGR valve gaskets. its well worth doing this job.

If there was a blue ribbon for bad advice, this guy would win it today at two for two.

The guy's truck is coil-on-plug design. No plug wires.
