I recently did the Fog light/ Blinker conversion. Below are the items i used in the swap minus a few connectors i had laying around the garage. I just want to see if anyone else had these issue when they did the swap. The swap itself was easy, the only downside i have ran across is that the Blinker Housing

Melting!!! The lights i used are

The lights melted the housing and i dont want to get another set of Blinker housings and it do the same thing. If i need to replace the blubs with somethin else i will. I just want to see if anyone has had this issue. If you have done the swap and have headligh blub down there please let me know what your running so i can see about swapping it. I just dont want to spend the money all over again to melt another housing and ruin another set of bulbs.

    Thanks!!!

Most fogs run a H1 or H3 bulb, are you using a relay setup with this?

If you want fogs in that location then a good set of oem fogs from other vehicles is the way to go, I think I have a set of projector fogs off a 3000gt that might fit in that same location.

I did a little looking on here and other people are using stock bulbs like in the headlight. So that is why i choose that bulb. The housing was not the best either. I dont want to retrofit anything.

The bulb fits perfect in side the location all i had to use was a little sealant.

I dont really get the question about the relay. I am using the

    http://www.amazon.com/Dorman-84790-...sr=8-1&keywords=Dorman+84790+Headlight+Socket

as the adaptor to be able to run the headlights.

what led should i use and where can i get them? and how bright are they??

The blinker housing wasn't made for headlights/fog lights whatever, it will melt no matter what bulb you use because there is no protection from the heat made from continuos use. An LED might not be as hot but will not project light very far.

A relay will keep your switch from buring up in the cab. It keeps the high current going to the fogs/driving lights and the low current to the switch in the cab. It's just safer to use a relay. Your wiring harness will be at risk of frying at some point. Just my opinion.

WAY TOO HOT a bulb for this application!

    +1.

Following Beau02's instructions, I originally wired mine for 3157 bulbs and recently converted to similar CREE LEDs. Zero problems with melting.

Awesome!! Thanks i just ordered some of the led and new housing. I was trying to get extra light out of them. But now i just want the looks and the new double row led bar will take care of the light. Thanks once again
