This morning I deceided to try the wire tie fix on my sloppy steering.Instead of a wire tie,i made a shim from a piece of 1" copper pipe.I used a piece about 1/2' long and about 3/8" wide.Tapered the end a little to get it started and pressed/tapped it down as far as it would go.Just got back from road testing it.For the first time since I got this truck,it handles as it should.Like a completely different truck.Almost as good as a FORD.No more pulling and wandering all over the road.No more constantly fighting and correcting the wheel.I am a happy camper! Can't believe the clever people on this forum.I know as much about a Tacoma as I do about nuclear fission. But,thanks to you folks I am learning.

It really does make quite a difference as to the way the truck feels. OP's idea looks good as well.
