I've scoured TW a lot, but finally posting for the first time on my truck's first birthday (today!!)

I need some help figuring out how to mount an awning on my bed rack. I'm debating making my own awning or keeping it easy and buying something. Regardless of the awning, I need a solution to mount it high enough.

If it helps, I'm handy enough I can cut and bolt tubing, but don't have any welding skills/tools.

Any ideas would be appreciated. If I missed a thread, please post and let me know!

Check out this pdf i sketched. What type of cover do you have? i'm in the market, looking at a retractable one at the moment, but i definitely need rails like you.

good luck deciphering my drawing lol. you may need to rotate it once you open the file.

I like the drawing. I like cross bracing idea even more! Maybe I could use some guy wires and stakes to secure it? I like it! I got some time until I tackle this project though.. as you can see from my pic.

I got a Truxedo Lo Pro Qt. I had the rails installed from a local rack shop - Yakima 54" tracks. The rack sits a little low making it difficult to roll up the cover. I considered a retractable cover, but price and extra bed space persuaded me to get the roll up.
