Prices are going to be high anywhere you go right now. Also, bulk ammo is hard to find. I am an avid reloader and i cant even find supplies. The price of primers have doubled. It all happened when Obama became president and the economy took a dive. Its pretty LAME!!

Thanks, the Mauser is almost a fully matching numbers gun, kicks like a mule, the M1 Garand is from 1944, and is pretty clean, the carbine is 1941, many arsenal add ons, ramp sight bayonet lug, so it's not 1941 original, but it's a great shooter got me started, I could talk all day

Those are great but now people know what they are worth so they are a lot of cash. Be nice to have one though. I have a remington 700 on a custom stock that can shoot hole in hole all day long and there was a guy out there with an Springfield that was practically matching me every shot. It was so sweet to see a piece of history match a piece of modern design.

Sent you a PM on what caught my eye. If you decide to reload I have some military brass here, believe it is already de-primed and trimmed.

Commercial 30-06 powder has a burn rate that runs hard in a Garand gas system. It will work but it is a little fast burning. I have heard the claim that it will bend an op rod over time. I think that Federal is making a white box load for Garands.

    A thing or two...
Federal makes an M1 safe load in their American Eagle brand. Hornady also makes an M1 safe load.

I've quite a bit of the Greek HXP and LC that the CMP sells (all older than me) and it looks new and fires just fine. Don't let the age of it fool you. It's still fine ammo, and you don't have to worry about bending your op-rod. It's also cheaper than any commercial ammo you'll find. Even with the price increase earlier this year. The Federal and Hornady loads run $1.00+ per round when you can find it.

If you're hell bent on firing commercial ammo through it, do yourself and your rifle a favor and spend the $30-40 on an adjustable gas plug from Midway to vent the excess pressure.

Midwayusa.com usually has boxs of 20 for about 15 bucks. Sometimes cheaperthandirt.com has bulk buys for a reasonable price. Good luck. Happy shooting.

I just went shooting the other day and my friend brought a bunch of high brass 12 ga shells that had the price on them... Something like $2.50 for a box!
