Sooooooo confused

After seeing the recall on DTRL's I took a look at mine but they're not melted. I'm speaking of the amber lights next to the headlights. I've noticed they don't come on when the headlights are on, don't come on when the parking lights are on, and only show (flash) when I use the key fob to lock/unlock the truck. When I turn on the parking lights there's just 2 small lights on the side of the headlights that come on. Not much of a running light at all. Is this normal or am I missing running lights? ('06 DCSB prerunner TRD). Thanx for your advice.

 

DTRL only run with no headlights selected and parking brake off

Are they on then ? If not , you don't have DTRL

 

Canadian trucks have since the 2005's and some US trucks

 

So what's the use of the amber lights? Just to flash when locking/unlocking the truck?

 

They are the turn signals / hazards
