Radio suddenly not recognizing USA Spec PA15

I put it in the glove box the first time , second time I pulled the shifter trim and the console and ran it so the ipod could be accessible in the console

 

USA spec technical support is very helpful. But sometimes these interfaces just need to have a hard reset. Unplug it at the box for 1 min then plug it back in. That usually works with these unless there's something actually wrong with it. Whenever I've installed these in vehicles I always made a point to put the box somewhere serviceable with these kind of problems in mind.

K , so anyway , I popped out the front cupholder trim piece to get at the location where I mounted the USA Spec box







Pulled out the box itself and found the DIP switches were all where they should be but just because I already had it out I cycled them on and off to make sure they were positively seated where they should be ,not sure if that was any help but whatever



Left the unit unconnected for about 5 minutes , reconnected the cables and now everything works fine again so not sure if it was the DIP switches or just no power that reset the unit but it has resolved itself

So, after all that, the issue turned out to be a loose screw between the gas pedal and the steering wheel

Wasn't that big of a deal to me , glad it's fixed now though
