Im looking for some bed bars that extend the entire length of the bed in a 2001 tacoma, basically from the back window to the gate. Online stores are fine, but if you just happen to know of a place in Southern California that would help out. Thanks

You might want to move this to the For Sale forum with a WTB prefix.

This thread is for Detailing (wash/wax/polish/etc.).

Need help replacing all of the vinyl protector film near the front of the rear wheelwell and door trim. Ive found a few threads that state its a 3M sticker that I can apply myself and that I can get this from a dealer with exact pieces cut. Any idea if I can get these anywhere else or dealer only? Also any part numbers or even the proper title of this stuff is called? I really want to get the exact pieces that are already cut if possible.

Depends on how much you want to spend. I did another members 08 PM and it came out really nice. I used Wolfgang Fuzion, a high end hybrid wax.

This is a sample size but you can get 3 to 4 double coat applications out of the tub.

This is another sample size of a wax I have used that will not break the bank.

I would wait till AG has free shipping on a sale.

If you are looking for an over the counter solution it is really hard to beat Mothers. Sold at all the Auto stores.

^be sure to clay your truck right after washing it as it's wet, before waxing and sealing it to lift off any contaminants that soap can't. That's if you want to go through every single step correctly

Hi guys! I've been trying to restore one of my pitted headlight lenses lately and it's getting progressively worse!!! I'll cut right to the chase and show you the pictures in what has been a series of unfortunate events...

2000 Grit wet sand before acrylic clear coat.
    6svsyg_d8819b13980b1ae19788984501dc85c4da36531c.jpg

The clear coat turned out great! But then I noticed these "cracks" in one spot... I thought I must've gone too heavy on the first coat so I sanded it all down again only to find that they're in the plastic???
    5foljc_a21c724735f90aa692c4c90aa3f6bc7381929374.jpg

I continued sanding vigorously, and eventually they began to fade to an acceptable level. Before spraying again I tried out an automotive degreaser this time, rather than the rubbing alcohol I had used before. This f**ked things up real good from the looks of it! Little cracks everywhere like a dried out desert!

At some point or another I tried the buffing strategy instead of the clear coat but apparently I'm not very good at buffing. What should my next move be before I COMPLETELY ruin it?

    Thank you kindly!

Get one of those cheap kits from Harbor Freight or your local parts store and use a drill with the polishing pad and the polish they provide. I'd just polish the crap out of it until the results are acceptable. Worst case, you have to buy new headlights, but it looks like you're already in that boat now. May be able to salvage them with the polishing kit.

I happen to have one of those kits with the drill attachment that you speak of. I'll try buffing the bejesus out of it after work and report back. Thanks!

2000 grit is nowhere near fine enough to finish with on that. may be why you keep getting the haze. go back with the 2000 if you get a chance then do a wet sand with 3500 and then do a polish. should speed up the process and offer a nice result. did that to my wifes previous vehicle before we sold it. worked well for me.
