So I have an odd problem, it just started today. I have the factory head unit hooked up to the Sirius SCC1 for sat radio, with the factory steering wheel controls. It's been working well for over 2 years, but suddenly this morning on my way to work it just starts randomly changing channels while listening to sirius.

The only 2 things that are different are that it's suddenly really cold here, it was 8F this morning and is supposed to drop to below zero tonight. Also I just bought a blue tooth addition that plugs into the AUX so I can use my phone to play music without having to constantly plug into the headphone jack.

Could either of those 2 factors somehow change the channel? I don't think so but I can't think of any other reasons for why it's suddenly being weird.

Mine did the same during the summer. It would go to scan or channel 1. I just figured it was a Sirius computer issue. The odds of me accidentally hitting a channel select button are pretty remote but I won't eliminate that entirely. Either way, it hasn't done it in a while, so I never gave it much thought. I never used the AUX port or Bluetooth in the vehicle if that helps.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
FM radio would do that on mine. Randomly scan up or down and always stopped on static. Sometimes a few times a day and sometimes months of not doing it.

Started when truck was maybe 2 years old. I just put up with it for about 5 years since it was intermittent and didn't want aftermarket radio.

Found newer OEM radio local on craigslist one day and that unit has worked great. The one in now is from a 2009 I think.

Tried dealer twice when it first started. They're idiots. "Are you sure you aren't pushing the seek button?" is the only response they had.

Update us if you find a fix other than replacing it.

Thanks for the responses, sounds like it's the head unit. Did you both end up just dealing with it or did you replace yours?
