I've got a 99 SR5 and the seat belt light is always on, even when the drivers belt is buckled (I always buckle up). I disconnected the connector under the seat but that hasn't affected the light, it still blinks red. So aside from removing the bulb is there anything I can try? How about cutting off the connector of the lead that comes out of the carpet and shorting those two wires together? Any help is appreciates......because this thing is distracting.

Mine did that until I replaced the seat belt, the light will come on when the circuit is not complete so un plugging it is the same as your buckles being dis connected, probably a wire gone bad.

My 99 SR5 Tacoma did that too. I "fixed" it by putting a wire between the terminals in the connector to the seat belt buckle. I always wear my seat belt anyways, so I don't need the truck to remind me.
