    Hi,
Name's Chris. I'm in the Army, stationed in Colorado Springs but I'm from the Northern Virginia area.
My Toyota Tacoma isn't really modified, not lifted or anything. But I love it.
It's real long though, the double cab and the long bed combination make for some fun in tight parking lots and right hand corners, but not too bad. I'm not sure how it would work out on rough trails with the extra long wheel base and stock ground clearance, but I've never had any issues on any dirt roads or wide open spaces in Colorado.
It's 4WD but it takes some really bad snow or icy conditions for me to switch over.
I imagine once these tires are done, I'll go with a larger size since there's still room to spare with the fenders. Might wait till I'm back in VA for good though, as with the O2 levels in Colorado I'm lucky to get 18MPG highway. About 300-330 miles before I fill up.
I'm in the process of setting up a CB radio. Will post a thread on that by February at the latest. Probably sooner.
In the future I'd like to put in some kind of tool box/extra Jerry can rack in the bed. That might be a while though.

Welcome to TW! The site is full of great mods! i bought a large ammo box(20mm i believe) off a friend and installed it in the corner of the bed, using the stock slider mounts. Search on here and you'll see what I'm talking about. I drilled it out so it locks and holds jumper cables and other stuff. Kinda of a fun cheap mod first project for me. Good luck and thanks for serving.

    Thanks for the welcome guys!

tacorgidor, sounds cool. I got a bunch of .50 and 5.56 ammo cans in my storage locker. I'll have to check out how you mounted it. Sounds easy enough if I could get my hands on some bigger ones.

    Thanks Jimmy.

That's an interesting coincidence Nick, are you originally from California? My brother's a Parris Island Marine he got his MOS training at Ft Belvoir for Personnel Recovery/Mortuary Affairs.
