I'm trying to understand why the Bilstein 5160's are only good for 1" of lift while the Icon's 56503R VS series are good up to 2.5" of lift. Both are the same length when fully extended.

Billy 5160: 13.84" collapsed length, 23.23" extended length
Icon 56503R: 14.23" collapsed length, 23.25" extended length

Also, the OME Nitrocharger has 23.95" extended length, and is packaged with the Dakar leaf pack that can give up to 2.75" of lift.

So what else determines the safe working range for these shocks?
