2016 may in fact have a slightly longer cab or just longer doors

I just photoshopped two images of a 2nd gen and a 3rd gen tacoma and it appears the rear doors on the 3rd gen are about an inch longer. also the lower portion of the front door is larger as well. I could be wrong though, but this is the best I could do in short amount of time.

If it's a new gen, it's like gen 5 or 6. Definitely not a new gen imo

And, OP, for the record, unless both of those pictures were taken from the exact same distance away from the truck, with the same camera and trucks at the exact same angle and position, you're OBVIOUSLY going to have some disparity between an overlay like that.

Same cab, but I'll agree the doors look slight different.

Not trying to be a troll but the likelihood of actually getting two images close enough in angle and size/resolution to photoshop them over one another and get accurate measurements is pretty slim. Even if the cab was larger or smaller there is no way you are going to be able tell this way.

I don't know why people are trying so hard to say/believe its a new cab, same cab same frame, way too much evidence and pics that say so. Sorry guys its not a new cab and however you define it still a lot of carryover from the gen 2 which would not really make it a gen 3. Yes its got new gizmos and looks different, if toyota dosent give a new power train its a gen 2 that looks different. New power train gen 2.5-2.75. Some people's kids.

 

Ya toyota spent all that money to make a cab that looks exactly the same as the 2nd gen that docent look like it belongs with the lines of the bed and front fenders, but is an inch or two bigger. seems totally logical. dude I hope your right and can tell us we are all wrong but its the same cab and monday will confirm that.
