Hello all living in california with carb standards makes getting a cai really tough for my 2nd gen 2.7l, but 1st gen intakes for the 2.7l are carb legal! Will a first gen 2.7l cai fit a 2nd gen 2.7l? If not can do some trimming?

The OEM intake is as good as a CAI, sorry I don't know the answer to your question.

Haha I was afraid you would say that... I am more just curious if it would even be possible to put a first gen intake on a 2nd gen, are they different sizes? I know stock is pretty good but my first gen 2.7l buddy is offering it free so why not?

Get it and compare? Look at lines, sensors and such. I'm not in CA, nor have I had anything other than a quad inspected for emission. How strict are CA inspection stations when it comes to checking Exec. Order (CARB) numbers in reference to what they were originally approved for?
