I have an oppurtunity to get a TRD E locker housing and swap it into my non trd axle. I was just informed that there might be slight differences but I thought the axles were the same just without a locker? Any one ever swap one over? here is the link to what I'd buy. Need to know within an hour!!

Not sure what the actual year change was, but the TRD E-locker fits the 8" axle. It can be adapted to a non locker 8" with a few minor mods to the housing. Later model non TRD OR Tacos use a larger axle housing that wont work with the 8" center section so you would have to swap the entire axle housing, not just the 3rd member.

No. Even if it fits it's not worth the hassle. If you want a locker buy an aftermarket one for the axle you already have. It'll be much easier and stronger.

Thanks guys, I opted not to buy it, the seller didn't have enough info on it to make me comfortable modding my axle.
