Cheap Synthetic Oil

    Delo 400 Syn, Plywood Box Sides
    I have been running Delo 400 LE Full Synthetic for the past few oil changes. No problems and it is less than $20 / gallon and I can get it at any truck stop. Oil stay clean even after 3000 miles. The 5w40 viscosity appears good for cold start-ups.

    Does anyone else have info on this? I use Mobil 1 and pay the price. This sounds pretty reasonable. Canuckoma has the engine mileage to say something is right with this...

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    On the second gens, the VVT-i is opperated by oil pressure. Not sure what affect could be had on the newer engines from running a 33% thicker oil.

    Not sure how much. A thicker oil is going to casue more drag on the crank. Alot of manufactures are switching to a lighter 20wt oil to aid in economy, but Im unsure of the impact on engine longevity. Im currently testing this, however, and should have an answer as soon as my Wife hits 100k miles......which may take a while. :(

    Sounds like the viscosity difference is enough to impact economy. Good enough for me. I will stay with the recommended 5W-30. Thanks again.
