Passenger side has the factory jack/toolkit, a couple pairs of channel locks, a pair of snatch straps, and some D-rings/hooks.
Driver's side has towing hardware; ball mounts and assorted balls, ball wrench, flat-to-round adapter, and a couple packets of hitch ball lube. I've also got a wool throw-type blanket jammed into the space between the bins.
The center console in the rear holds my ratcheting tie-down straps, 100 feet of paracord for additional tie-down purposes, and a spare pair of leather work gloves.

Mine converts my standard 4-flat wiring harness to a 7-round harness. I just had to run an additional ground to hook it into. The 7-round adapters come with the splices to hook in a brake controller too, but I don't have one in my truck so I just let them dangle. I use it when I borrow my father-in-law's flatbed trailer. He's got a 7-round harness on it, since that's what his truck has, even though there's no brakes on the trailer.

    Edit-This thing.

This may have been said before (155 pages is a lot to read), but I only keep in my truck what I need to get home because if I have to bug out I'm gonna get my dog first.
So I have tow straps, tie downs, air compressor, tire plugs, flashlights, a multi-tool, and packs of BBQ sauce. (anything becomes edible with BBQ sauce)
At home I keep things organized so I can easily grab and go if necessary.

I'm all for being prepared, but I'm not leaving the dog.

Same difference, but 7 to 4 is for when the truck has a 7 round and the trailer has a 4 flat. A 4 to 7 requires a little extra wiring, whereas the 7 to 4 is just plug and play. Much less annoying.

Mine is of similar caliber. I have a GHB (Get Home Bag) that I keep in the truck that has enough gear to live out of it uncomfortably for 3 days (longer if I push it). I'm not trying to lug around enough to survive long-term, just enough to get me back to my house if I'm stranded somewhere.

Do you have a switch to release them from a trap door onto the road behind you in case of pursuit by villainous fellows?

Behind my back seat right now is a space blanket, tarp, about 100ft of parachord, jumper cables, 1st aid kit, waterproof matches, tie downs, recovery strap, and few other things I can't think of. I just slowly add to it all over time

Just a bunch of old crap
    30' 30,000# tow strap
    Snatch block pulley
    2 D-rings for the bumpers
    Crovel Extreme
    Winch controller remote
1/4 mile spool of detonation wire (Army surplus, round metal can)
    Machete
    3600 calorie Datrex bar
    Leather gloves
    Lug wrench
    Jumper cables

I have more room because the first owner of my truck had the bins removed and he had a custom fiberglass sub box installed and the rear seats raised. I ended up taking out the POS sub box, thus I had more storage space than having the bins. I just plugged the drain holes with rubber plugs, so they're just bare metal but have 2x the storage space.

    lol.
If they're worried about EMP, a metal garage should technically function as a Faraday cage.

However, most of the experiments done on vehicles and EMP show that the cars are unaffected by EMP. At most, the car shuts off, coasts to a stop, and has to be restarted.

On the other hand, I don't really put a whole lot of concern into EMP since right now the only way for it to be generated by a human is with a Nuclear/Atomic bomb, and if you're close enough for the EMP to affect you you've got bigger problems anyhow.

Actually this is false if IIRC, a nuclear warhead is detonated in the atmosphere, say up just on the verge of space say over the middle of the US, the EMP generated would essential cripple the US.

I would need to google it but I did read this scenario somewhere.

High-altitude detonation would cripple the US, but due to the collapse of the power grid and not due to individual vehicular mobility. Nearly everything I've read has indicated that most modern cars/trucks would still function after exposure to an EMP.
It'd become a moot point, though, since without the grid transportation would most likely gridlock anyway.

in truth no one knows what will happen when one happens.

im more scared of a natural one from the sun.

if the same one happened today that happened in 1939, the carrington event, wed all be fucked.
there was no electrical back then really, and the all telegraph machine buildings burnt down because of the electrical they had, which was very minimal.
imagine what would happen now.... i could go into alot more detail, but im busy at work lol

Reading about the Carrington event is what inspired me to start carrying a GHB in my truck in the first place, haha!

reading about that is honestly what inspired me to start prepping.

if you prep for the worst, you are prepared for anything IMO.

    how do you know?
    genuinely curious. :)

are you saying you were in a sub when an emp hit? or? lol.
