I have been looking for an a post on here that tells how to make them come on with the cab light. I cannot find it. I want to do this mod asap and cant. Is there a way to make them come on with the dome light. It is the two lights for the Driver and Passenger up front. In a 2003 Toyota Tacoma?

If anyone already knows how and or has pictures please PM me. It would be much appreciated!!

Also what light bulb would i need to swap these 3 lights to led?

As far as bulb type, search for csjumper; he does great leds. If you're going to buy from AZ or something, do yourself a huge favor and search led interior resistor on here. Your model may need a soldered on resistor to work correctly.

Front dome light added, light reminder added, door chime mod, added 2nd gen 4runner headrests, grey wire mod, 2lo mod, more later.
If you want an easy mod for your dome light get the dome - map light out of a second gen 4 runner, I did this in my 02 taco trd, I had to run one wire from the rear dome light to the new one I installed, I ran the wire right above the headliner from the rear dome and wired it into the new dome light, the dome lights operate off of ground, the map light wiring plugged directly from the taco wiring into the 4 runner dome - map light. It even looks factory I think I did a write up on this awhile back. Hope this helps it was pretty easy to do.

an easy way to do it that retains all the separate map light functions is, inside the dome light housing, you connect two diodes together onto the power wire for the dome light so the grey strip is on the side that goes to the map lights and one diode is hooked to each map lights power wire.

the way diodes work is like an electrical check valve, they let power only go in one direction so when the dome light comes on the map lights light up too but when the dome light is off and just the map light is on, power cannot backfeed and power up the dome light. this is why you have one on each map light so either one you turn on the power cannot get back to the other lights and they all work as desired but when the dome light comes on all 3 are lit.

look at this diagram here: http://s1076.photobucket.com/user/keakar63/media/toyotatrailerlightmodulefix.jpg.html?sort=6&o=3

and wire it only looking at the two diodes in the middle and ignore the rest of the diagram. think of the red brake light wire in the diagram (at the bottom) is going to be your dome light power wire connection and the map lights are wired up like the individual flasher wire connections at the top of the diagram
