Ok so i got some cubes put on my bumper and have a question about the wiring. Is it ok to splice two 16 ga. Wires i believe, to one 12 ga. wire via a normal butt splice? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I've never really had to wire anything together

Probably better off soldering them but the 12ga will more than handle the power. Just be sure you use the proper fuse/relay for 2 lights rather than just one.

You should be fine, the cubes don't pull very much power, about 1-2 amps each usually. using a real crimp tool (not vice grips) is a good idea. heat shrink it if you got it and call it a day.

    ^ too much work

Twist wires together and wrap in electrical tape

Just kidding. Do it right the first time and it saves you time down the road
