Anybody here use regular oil on and in their frames? I shoot oil in the frame then i take a oil saturated rag and wipe down the frame by hand. I do this to both my 3rd gen 4runners and my tacoma. I also take a long extension with a oily rag and push it thru the rear crossmember so the inside is totally coated. I pretty much coat everything while i'm under there. I have a lift at work so it's alot easier with the vehicles in the air. So far no rust issues (except some normal surface rust) and even in the summer, after a long winter, i can still feel a oily residue on and in my frames.

It's illegal, toxic, will wash off and it doesn't "creep" into small areas. Nothing beats a spray if you want to cover every thing.

Today it was slightly above freezing so i squirted the salt off of both my 4runner's undercarriages and frames with a high pressure hose at work. After i let them sit a while i took my finger and wiped the frames and i'm happy to say i still have oily residue on the frames. The tacoma hasn't been out of the garage since october so i don't have to worry about that one. I love the snow but i can't stand it when they salt the roads!

I know this information is buried in the forum somewhere, but a short search brought up a million threads. Hopefully you don't mind me posting this question here.

My Tacoma is 1 year old. I had it Krowned when I purchased it in January, 2014, and again in October before the snow and salt hits the road. My plan is each October. I'm in Newfoundland, so we get a lot of salt on our roads.

While reviewing the Fluid Film product (which I know is good - I use it on quad, lawnmower, snowblower, etc.) I noticed that the FF video shows them using it to clean tires as well. How much different is FF than Krown. I'm wondering if Krown can be used wherever FF can be used, and vice versa. Also, can the painted body of the truck be wiped down with FF or Krown? Will there be any negative results of using both Krown and FF (the reason for that question is that I have FF at home and would use it to touch up bare spots on chassis and/or suspension, nuts and bolts, etc.). Thanks for your time.
